About the orchestra

Founded in 2020, La Tramoya is a new tango orchestra that creates and shares new repertoire of original tango composed
by the orchestra’s members. La Tramoya’s unique sound melds their love of the golden-age tango of the 1940’s and 1950’s
with the exploration of new harmonic and and textural possibilities. In doing this, the group seeks to create the New “Tango
Classics”
of the 21st century, both preserving the fundamental elements of the music they love, and innovating to help
tango to grow.
The orchestra is composed of 9 members, from diverse parts of Argentina and the world, whose varied experiences enrich
the the project. La Tramoya has performed in a variety of spaces, both in concert and for milongas, bringing their unique
blend of the traditional and the new to delight audiences with their original soulful tango music.
